About the trip and itinerary

To do an adventure like this with a sail yacht is something Vidar have been talking about for a few years, and it was because of that S/Y Røvær was bought in 2006. Who the crew would be and were they would sail has been uncertain, but that it would be a long trip was for sure.

Autumn Bjørn finally decided he was in on it 100%, even if life at sea isn't his strongest side, to be away for a year was an exciting thought, something you have to do or just forget about it. Jånn and Borge wanted to come along too, but for different reasons, they could only do 6 months each, Borge the first 6 and Jånn will sign on around new year.

When we would leave had to fit with Vidars work, so no date was set, but wanted to leave in the middle on July 2008. We didn't want to say a specific date were we would be and have an itinerary that would be possible to change as we sailed along. This to be as free as possible and to do changes while at sea. But we had to put up a roughly route considering weather and winds, and if we wanted to go east into the Mediterranean or for example north along the Norwegian coast.
